Shop Terms & Conditions
Last updated: August 2026
These terms apply when you place an order through the Outpost website. We’ve tried to keep them straightforward. Essentially: we bake things, you order them, and you come and collect them.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to the terms below.

Ordering
Products available through our website are made in small batches and availability is limited.
When you place an order, please check that the products, quantities and collection details are correct before completing checkout.
Receiving an order confirmation means that we have received your order. If for any reason we are unable to fulfil it, we will contact you as soon as possible and arrange an appropriate replacement or refund.
Order limits
We’re a small bakery with actual people making actual bread, so there’s only so much we can make in a day.
Online quantities may therefore be limited, including a maximum quantity of certain products per customer.
Need more? For larger orders, please contact us directly at katrina@outposteccleston.com or speak to us in the shop. Give us as much notice as possible and we’ll let you know what we can do.
Collection only
We do not offer delivery or postage. All online orders must be collected from Outpost.
Orders should be collected from:

Please collect your order on the date and during the collection period selected or stated when ordering.
If you think you’re going to be late or unable to collect your order, please get in touch as soon as you can.
Uncollected orders
Our products are freshly baked and many have a short shelf life. If an order isn’t collected on the agreed day, we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to keep it for collection at a later date.
Unfortunately, we cannot normally offer refunds for orders that have been prepared but not collected.
If something unexpected has happened, get in touch. We’re human. We’ll always try to help where we reasonably can.
Freshly made means freshly made
Our bread, pastries and other products are made by hand in small batches. They may vary slightly in size, shape, colour and appearance from the photographs shown on our website.
That’s part of making things by hand rather than on a production line.
We make every effort to describe and photograph our products accurately, but images are intended as a guide and your loaf may not be the identical twin of the one on your screen.
Availability
We do our best to keep website availability accurate, but occasionally ingredients, production issues or other circumstances outside our control may mean we cannot make something you have ordered.
If this happens, we’ll contact you and may offer a suitable alternative. You don’t have to accept a substitute, and where we cannot supply an item you have paid for, we’ll refund the affected item.
Ingredients & allergens
Please check the product information carefully before ordering if you have an allergy or intolerance.
Our bakery handles a range of ingredients and allergens, which may include wheat and other cereals containing gluten, milk, eggs, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya and sulphites.
Although we take care when preparing our products, they are produced in a working bakery where allergens are handled. We therefore cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from traces of a particular allergen unless we specifically state otherwise.
If you have a serious allergy or are unsure whether a product is suitable for you, please contact us before ordering or eating the product so we can provide the information available to us.
Storage & freshness
Our products are made to be eaten fresh. Which is conveniently also when they taste best.
Any storage or reheating instructions provided with a product should be followed. Once an order has been collected, it is your responsibility to store and handle the products appropriately.
Prices & payment
All prices shown on the website are in pounds sterling (£).
Prices and product availability may change from time to time. The price you pay will be the price shown when your order is placed.
Payment must be completed through the payment methods offered at checkout.
Changing or cancelling an order
Because we make perishable products and often prepare them specifically for collection on a particular day, cancellation rights that normally apply to online purchases may not apply in the same way to our freshly made food.
If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us at katrina@outposteccleston.com as soon as possible.
If we haven’t started preparing your order, we’ll do our best to accommodate a change or cancellation. Once ingredients have been committed or your order has gone into production, we may be unable to change, cancel or refund it.
Refunds & problems with an order
Fresh food isn’t something you can normally return simply because you’ve changed your mind. This does not affect your legal rights where something is faulty, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
If there is a problem with your order, please tell us as soon as possible. Ideally, contact us on the day of collection and include photographs where they would help us understand what has happened.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement, refund or another appropriate solution.
Collection & responsibility
Please take reasonable care when transporting your order after collection, particularly delicate pastries, cakes or other easily damaged products.
Once products have been collected, we cannot normally accept responsibility for damage caused by transportation, inappropriate storage or handling after they leave Outpost.
Website information
We try to make sure that prices, descriptions, ingredients and availability shown on our website are accurate.
Occasionally mistakes happen. If we discover an obvious error affecting your order, we’ll contact you before fulfilling it wherever possible.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded under UK law.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order or for losses relating to business use where you are purchasing as a consumer.
Your statutory rights
These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Privacy
When you place an order, we collect and use certain personal information to process your payment, prepare your order and manage your collection.
More information about how we use personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our shop, products or ordering process changes. The terms that apply to your purchase will be those in place when you submit your order.
Questions?
If there’s anything you’re unsure about, ask us before ordering. We’d much rather answer a question beforehand than have a sad loaf situation afterwards.
